Got the second grow bed support built today. I'll be cycling in a few weeks I hope.

Also finished installing my free homemade exhaust fan and tested it. It works good. So yes electrical has been run to the greenhouse. I do however need to buy more electrical wire since I just had enough from a previous project.

How did you make your diy exhaust fan?

I had purchased a shipping container last year and it was about half full of electricians supplies. I used two bathroom exhaust fans stacked to get a stronger air flow. I used two pieces from a light fixture for the tube assy. I was going to use a chimney tube but it was tore up. Put a thermostat in line and there you have it. I figure bathroom exhaust fans are ment to be in a humid environment so they should do well in a greenhouse. I will take pictures when I get home today.

Thanks all. I hope to have my grow beds up and tanks full by the end of the weekend and hopefully cycling by sometime next week. Work permitting.

Which is more commonly used 1/2" or 3/4" PVC to move water from pump to grow bed?

As you need a valve at each gb outlet go as big as you can and step the size down at the valves. I'm assuming you are basically going, ft - gb - ft.

Wow long day for me today. I finished my GB stands and got the GBs on them cut my holes and installed the bulkhead fittings. Built all four bell siphons and plumbed the entire system. Was able to test GB#1 a full cycle no leaks. GB#2 well the bulkhead fitting leaked so I shut off the water. Only took a few pics before it got dark. ImageImageImage

Ok my grow beds are actually 14" deep, but I'm only planning on using 13" of media. My bacteria layer is going to be about an inch. My stand pipes are 11" and my bells are 13" the first test on GB1 went well and it looked as though I still had 2" of dry area at the top of my bell. Does this sound right or am I missing something?
