hi all,

today when i was feeding my fish i notice what i thought was a large seed in one of my bath tubs. upon closer inspection i realized it was actually what i hope is a frog. i sure as hell hope its not a toad. does anyone know which it is? iv'e never seen one here before.

is it a burrowing frog? they form a "sleeping bag" of mucusy type stuff around themselves and hibernate in the soil

my wife actually has a frog book and it has indeed been identified as a Pobblebonk. i have to say it has a most appropriate name. it seems to be content sunbaking in the hole just chilling out. i will set up a shallow pool of water for them to lay eggs. would love to get a colony going. just gotta keep the dog away from them.

The banjos and the motorbike frogs are some of the biggest and prettiest garden frogs in Perth. Banjo frog has a very distinct sound. I hope you don't treasure your sleep.... rrrrrrrrRRR......wo-womp......wo-womp

As soon as you put water around for them they will move in. We are starting to get the motorbike frogs reving up right about now.

One year we had about 10-20 little frogs come up from the lawn. They were every where. We can actually recognize the same frogs from year to year... they bury themselves/hibernate during the colder months.

I have a dedicated frog pond which will be full of eggs soon. What I do is one the tadpoles are getting bigger, I let the pond slowly dry up, it simulates drought and it triggers them to turn into frogs...

In the early spring, we get Spring Peepers in the wet boggy areas. Little tiny green frogs that generate a big high-pitched trill. I rather like them, but wouldn't want my bedroom window near them.

On top of your light fixture?!? Like 2 meters in the air? They got wings or spiderman fingers? Looks like a nice buffet bar for them.

Green Tree Frogs There can be up to 6 of those frogs on each of the light fittings on the verandahs.

I jumped a little when I saw this.

This fella came and visited me while I was milling then toddled off past the GH.
