Hi Folks,

As many of you know, I'm doing a fundraising campaign for a new product that I developed. Making molds for extrusion is crazy expensive and this will method help to cover the costs and the first production run. Thanks for your help! -Rob T.

Sorry you had problems getting it through. KickStarter is probably the most trusted way to do funding. Probably if I just set up a PayPal, it would look more like a scam. ;-)

Is there an internal mechanism that supplies the clamping force?

no it's just held closed when it's stuffed into the hole of the raft. When you pull the plant out, it usually springs open and falls right off. With the 2" version, it's why it has the "hour glass" shape, so you can easily hold it closed if you want to move the plant. You can get your fingers right down into it and put it out. Works great!

I hope you have already got your patents filed so they are "pending" at least.

I was tempted to buy the $50 reward, but $45 for postage outside of the US seemed a little excessive for something that weighs 1g each, :(

Great idea though.

Yeah, it's a problem and I couldn't get any special rates from UPS or US Mail for the light weight. It all falls under dimensional rates because of the size of the boxes.

There is a very good chance that this sort of info is proprietary.

Glad to hear you have the formalities sorted or at least underway. I don't know if others know or not but once you publish your innovation you can then not seek a patent.

There's no lead in PE. You may be mistaking it for PVC
