Hello everyone,

after months of reading, planning, calculating and evaluating, I have decided to give it a try! I just finished the plans and will start digging in few weeks.

I really wanted to make the whole piece beautiful, avoid pipes, plastic and other mess. The system will utilize floating raft in other to maximize amount of water that will help me stabilize temperature within greenhouse.

More pics can be found here: http://farmafutura.blogspot.cz/ I want to trenslate the content into english, but it will take few days.

Looking forward your inputs!!
David

Cool!

Are you anywhere near zsazsa in Hungary? He has a nice AP community going on there. His solar greenhouse is kind of similar in design, using IBC totes.

It is not close, but I have been studying their system and frankly - without them I would hardly find a courage to start it in this climate.

Thanks!
David

Hi, I decided to change the greenhouse design that allowed me to save like 60% of costs - plates of polycarbonate are bowed against the wall and do not need any strong support from the bottom. I am already 95% completed, electricity and air pipes will be installed this week and I will start the cycle within 14 days!

I am trully moved you like it guys. Here are couple more photos of the black solar wall. I will let the water flow from the wall, when water will need heat and greenhouse cold. Termostat will splash heat below floating raft that insulate heat quite efficiently. This should stabilize temperature of the system using only 35W pump and termostat.

Photo above shows air-lift pump I designed in order to circulate water only using air pump - air bubles are utilized for both oxygenation and circulation of the system. I only use regular pump to maintain temperature stability through splashing heat below rafts.
