Nice to see an update of your system Ron. Haven't seen anything in quite some time.

Martin.

And if they don't get picked they fall on the ground and start to rot in the warm San Diego sun. In college there was a large overhanging tree, 3 stories tall at least, in the driveway that was almost completely overtaken by a grape vine. It was nice being able to pick the low hanging grapes but the ones higher up out of reach eventually fell off the vine and covered the driveway. It made quite a mess and smelled pretty bad. The driveway needed a good scrubbing to get rid of the smell. A buddy even slid a bit when trying to park on them, lol. Maybe add a small tarp to catch and collect them.

Just something to consider.

Yeah I feel the same way JT, pretty much everything outside got wiped out by the cold spell in December when it hit 9 F, (that's close to -13 C). Looking at lows in the 20's as well last I checked. I'd say at least he probably still has some pests but I just found some aphids on the chard in the greenhouse so not getting any satisfaction that way

That Romanesco is sure neat looking.

Kimocal, I guess the lesson learned is to not park on grapes! To be candid, I would be happy to just get fruit from these vines. So far they have not produced any. I can assure you that the goal is to eat all of the grapes when they do produce!

Don't think I have seen pointy broccoli. Is the taste much different then the rounded kind?

Yea, it is not actually broccoli. It's taste is much more like cauliflower. Kimocal described the flavor best with fractalicious.

Thanks for posting, Ron. I enjoyed reading this thread. Can't wait to get my system producing like yours. Congratulations.

I have an idea for my greenhouse similar to your overhead grape vines.
