I enjoy the english language and try to teach proper pronunciation to my kids. They learned about a new word Pesto. Wife was away so I had the run of the kitchen. Kids and I harvested some Basil from the AP growbed, used some garlic and olive oil and tossed some Parmesan cheese all into the blender. They got to push the buttons while I heated up some tomato sauce and some Fettuccini. Wife doesn't go for the homemade stuff very often, but it was a fun meal for the rest of us.
"Papa, I like this pesto." Ah, sweet words.

But what, no photos Mr Bill :( I guess you will just have to do it all over again, especially since the kids loved it.

~~~ The oak trees were having contests to see who could pelt the humans with their acorns this year. Waiting patiently for anyone to walk nearby, or better yet to have someone park their vehicle under the tree. That was fun, seeing that the Rain and Jack Frost were the only ones able to mark vehicles with hail damage. The only time the oaks get to toss things at vehicles is in the autumn.
* But now Mr Bill is laid up, we can toss our acorns into his growbeds. Hopefully our sons and daughters will have a fighting chance this year. * ~~~
Good thing I checked on my growbeds. These were only in there for a couple of months. They looked so innocent just laying on top of the gravel...
holy moly - I get loads of the miniature style gum nuts (about 5mm) land in my GBs - hope they don't start striking!!! They are tricky bu**ers to pick up as they tend to slide down between the hydroton.
Where is Mr Bill. I just re read you thread from about 25 and that was a lot to take in. I thought I had problems till I read yours. Hope your getting along OK now. I have bad luck with brockley too. The damn white butterflies come and leave the caterpillars that destroy the leaves of the plants. chuck in a few cabbage seeds while your at it cause they work well. And for snacking sprinkle in some radishes on top of the gravel and dont bother them till they get big enough to eat then snack while your working.
Been neglecting my own thread. Here are some pictures of a system that I built over the summer as a display unit. The FROZEN pictures.
Winter of January 2014 in the Southeast. Kinda nippy out there...
Yep looks coolish over there too. My pond is frozen over but the fish tank is not. However the freezing temps took out all my tomatoes. Now I have to go clean up all the dead plants and put in some more. I think I saw a bunch of flowers in walmart. they should work till something else gets growing.
