Trying desperately to get any size into these trout with no success this this season. Which has now become last season. Weather forecast looks promising for the next week or so, and will plan to do a harvest toward the end of that cool spell. After that 30+ for at least 4 days and warmer nights. Can only try and keep them going since there is no point harvesting at their current size and no point trying to move them to the dam since the move would probably do them in.

Veg is going great, carrot and parsnips growing great on top but still hit and miss bellow the gravel. Too high water level and nutrients to force long typical length.
Broccoli been harvesting plenty, both AP and soil. All the usually doing well springies leek beets sage.
Tomatoes growing slowly, cauliflower is too wet and flowers all weird will have to drop water level in this bed, or top up the gravel. Lettuce is doing the best I have seen from the AP ever. Almost as good as the dirt.

Need to restock the yabbies, had a good feed of the big ones and been taking from the small ones for bait without replenishing the stock. Will head out to restock soon.

Tanks very dirty from un eaten food. Build up in sump tanks needs attention.

Latest is there is a new build on the horizon. Put an offer on a farm so the next system/s will be huge already picked out the perfect site for them on the property. Will likely run a heated system and a trout system.

At he moment I have put trout season on hold this year, partly due to the eminent move, partly due to the fact I've been so busy and partly due to the 175 silvers and Murray cod I still had in the system. More about that soon.

Okay so proper update on fish situation. Ended up having a good end to last seasons trout. Ended up being able to harvest all trout at about 300gm. Went straight from that to getting 125 silver perch, and 25 Murray cod. Now I know I said I would never do silvers again but I had a customer interested in buying them for a farm dam but me getting some size Into them first in the system. Got the murrays for one more try at them for my self.

So the silvers were the best performing silvers I've ever had. They were well and truly weened on pellets when I received them. And continued to smash feed like I've never seen silvers do before. Got some really good size onto them before we bit the bullet and transferred about 100 out to there new home.

I still have approx 25 in the system and so far so good. It seems we have got through the danger period of autumn and dangerous weather swings with only 2-3 silver perch losses. Murray cod losses were a few more but nothing massive. Have transferred about 13 out to another dam close by. And still have about 5-8 still in the system.

Yabbies all got used up or escaped the main tank. And the monster tank is ready to harvest. There really is some monsters in there. All male so no breeding going on at the moment.
Might get out and stock up on yabbies tomorrow.

The Murray cod might get transferred to the new dam at the new property. The silvers might do the same or end up with their brothers.
As mentioned before trout season will be on hold for now until the new system is constructed.
