Ive always been fond of those bits of useless information that get around. In most cases the information is interesting but would probably never help you out in life. I hear them all the time so thought Id start sharing..




Did you know..

The hottest day in Australia's history was in Oodnadatta, South Aus in January 1960. A scorching 50.7deg.

Felt like that when I was there in '92 gettin' a Oodnaburger from the Pink Roadhouse !

Hottest on record... I thought Marble Bar held that at 51C

Early 90's I was working for the shire in Karratha, on the hottest day I've ever felt in my life to date (and I was born and grew up in Karratha, we were used to hot) we checked a weather station at a park in town... 51C... and it was a proper weather station, just not BOM official station for town.

We then went out to the airport to do some work, the weather station in the garden between the terminal and the apron was reading 55C. The Ansett Rampies loading the jets reckon it was nearly 60C around the planes because they don't shut the engines down. Even working in the shade in the gardens it was unbearable, we'd do about 10 mins work then have a 10 minute break.

An F28 full of guys (about 85 passengers on an F-28 4000 from memory) landed. They'd been flown up by EPT Fochi to work on the Dampier-Boodarie gas pipeline. They all disembarked and walked into the terminal... and only about half walked out the other side of the terminal into the carpark... the rest went straight up to the Ansett counter and said... "Put me the f--k back on that plane!"

No no no... The hottest recorded temperature was in the shed here at BYAP a few years back... OK, not quite... Got to 47 though...
