Well after an 18 month aquaponic lull we are back in business... well almost.

We have spent the last year and a half building a house in Roleystone in the Perth hills area and this week we relocate from Tom Price.

This house is the first time we have ever had any land, the house sits on 2 1/2 acres, and there is plenty of room for a system or two.

We learnt quite a lot from our first setup. Some of you may remember our first IBC DIY system http://www.backyardaquaponics.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=8299

The first few decisions we need to make are what type of system, how big and where shall we put it?

I think at this point it will be a flood and drain system and will have a fairly large fish tank. I am a firm believer that a larger quantity of water reduces temperature and chemical fluctuations although there is obviously a balance required in growl bed size.

So now is the time for some research and planning.
