I am wanting to use the chop design, but also wanting to incorporate the ebb and flow design to link up with sump for growing fruit trees etc. Not sure if this is the best way to do it. I was also thinking about doing a dutch barrel design (55 gallon drum cut in half). Not sure which would link up better with the chop design. Any thoughts

Either/both would work with a Chift Pist/Chop design... as the concept is based on the water overflowing from the fish tank... to the grow beds/buckets...

If my pump is running constantly in the chop system will that allow for the buckets to fill up that are connected to the sump tank (ebb and flow)?

My goal is a one pump system, and to be able to incorporate nft, floating raft, and dutch bucket or ebb and flow design with my normal grow beds of 55 gallon drums cut in half.

I am trying to work out how to run my fish tank.. can I incorporate all these things on a chop type fish tank? Or would it be better to use the fish tank as the sump, and feed all these things via a pump? Of course this would change the placement of my tank to putting it in the ground.

I figured with the chop I can guarantee that my fish tank always has enough water. But I am not sure that I could incorporate all these things with the water pressure from a chop design. (maybe lift my tank up higher?

I am rather new to all this, so forgive me if these are simplistic questions. I am still in the research stage..
