I had my media in black plastic bags sitting in the summer sun for a few days before it went into the relocated system. No noticeable ammonia/nitrite spike. Worms were all alive and ok, though maybe a little hot.

You could pile all the media into your spare fish tank on a trailer, throw the grow beds on top.

Update:

Due to time constraints I decided to dump the gravel but keep the hydroton.

The system has been stripped down and relocated to Dowerin. Much thanks should go to RedBeard for baby sitting the Koi. He has a way with fish and already has them eating out of his hand.

I am currently sitting in a header for 8+ hours a day so the system will sit in pieces until harvest has finished as I have come up with a design. I also need to get some power installed (solar).

I will stay with a CHIFT PIST system. I have a 5000 Litre and a 3000 Litre tank. One of these may become a sump. I may add more fish tanks later. Some more beds will be added. I also have a swirl filter I could incorporate.

Canola is off and we are on Barley. Both have been above average yields.

:wave1: Congrats on the move mate, I guess this means you found work out there, congrats again.

Wish I read your Oct post sooner, I have a heap of feed bags you could have used for the gravel.

Steve Buscemi's character in Reservoir Dogs was Mr. Pink.

Yeah - have found work. Currently living in an old farm house which is not too far from my block. Here is the view from the front verandah.

Not to worry, it was just easier to dump the gravel rather than transport it up here and have it sit around for a few months.

Plenty of things to do before I start rebuilding the system again - like build a house and plan the design of the system....I wonder which one is more important? House? or AP?

A house that is designed around the AP system that incorporates a fish room is most important. :headbang:

I agree! To not have to go outside to harvest fish would be a dream! And an attached atrium for your vegetables!
