Jamie - while I have not grown capsicum as yet - I have a couple of chilli plants in the system and they are fruiting very heavilly. They of course are very close relatives to capsicums. I think AM had problems with his too?

Looks like we all like Italian food :)
Monya, the capsicum plants are just sub-standard. The leaves are curled and brown edged and fruit is not setting. Got some in the dirt and they are fruiting nicely.
VB - so what's your secret. Whats the pH? and whats your nitrate level at the mo? Maybe my toms are sucking up too much of the goodies.

Jamie- Curling leaves etc. sometimes is from a lack of micronutrients and/or iron. Janet swears by greensand, others use chelated iron. A little of one of those micronutrient providers might just be the ticket to perk up the caps.

Thanks Greenedo.
Yes I thought maybe that was the problem. I added some osmocote, but maybe its not a complete smorgasboard of micronutrients - like iron for example. I'll have to check the carton.

I have never had success with eggplant. Moved it to a sunny north facing spot against a colourbond fence this year. Only water was from what was left in my 3lt drink bottle at the end of the day. They went nuts. 3 plants, pick several each week as big as your foot and they are still flowering in March. Go figure!

Week 10
pH 6.5 - need even more dolomite.
Nitrates 20ppm
Fish up to 15cm and always ravenous.
Gotta find a source of stale bread to make my own food.
Picked cucumbers, cherry toms and lots of lettuce.
3 eggplant fruit, biggest now 5cm
Planted more beans, Italian tomato, lettuce and more eggplant.

Went fishing at luggage point over weekend - my god the fish love the nutrients coming out of the sewage plant outlet :)
Nice big fat bream :)
Talk about a waste of water - there is a fast flowing stream of very clean looking water constantly pouring into the Brisbane river.
And we are into level 5 water restrictions (there's a major draught on in Australia).

ouch, level 5 !

We're cringing about the possibility of going into level 4 VERY soon.

Level 4 is basically NO outdoor water usage. At all. Ever.

Don't tell me level 5 starts restricting indoor usage?

would be a good exfoliator..............:)

On a side note....went away for he weekend to a 40 acre property that i was at about 18 months ago. One of the dams on the property was at about 20% capacity, on the weekend it was little more that a "puddle" (made it easier to catch the yabbies ;))

The second dam was at about 30%, yesterday it was BONE dry.

I didn't bother to even go look at lake fyan.........15 years ago the water was half way up the bank wall, 18 months ago it was a few hundred meter walk from the banks.
