Finaly achieved success with my fruit trees in blue barrels.

The fruitfly bait and nets made the difference. They are rather small but very tasty :headbang:

PS - I dont want to calculate the $ per peach. If they were made of pure gold it may just pay for all the effort to get them this size.

PSS - the splashes on them is from dipel. Easily washed of.

Hi all

Yes its a nectarine - this is called the "Crimson Baby" Dwarf nectarine. I also have 3 "Golden Queen" dwarf peaches in blue barrels.

I counted about 10 fruits to each tree. Not a huge yield but very rewarding :thumbright: :thumbright:

I am wanting to plant dwarf fruit trees also. How do your barrels with tree's drain? Is it a "u" type drain?

Computer died catastrophically and had to replace! I am finally able to load pictures again.

In summer i change some of my DWC beds for growing duckweed.

This year the motorbike frogs have taken up residence and laid eggs in one. In fascination i have started feeding the tadpoles and they are growing quickly.

Mom and dad is always in attendance and watching progress. My wife asked how you can tell which one is mom and which one is dad ? :love3: I said the fat one is mom :bootyshake: so tonight i am sleeping on the dogbox :

I havent posted for a while so here is a few pictures of the recent developments

I buried a grape cutting last winter in one of my growbeds to see what will happen. I had to pull it out today because it was taking over. I have lots of grapes in the garden so don't need them to take over my growbeds. However i am sure they will grow well.

The dwarf peach is taking over. These have now been in the grow beds for three years. I did some root pruning (see the bonsai webpage started by Ron). I am not sure how these would have looked if i didn't do any pruning!.
