Just recieved this email in response from wormman.com

The phoenix worms will be shipped next week as the shipments have been backlogged due to the fluctuating freezing temperatures and high demand for them. I apologize that you were not contacted sooner regarding the status of your order and for any inconvenience this has caused you.

Thank you for your patience and once again, thank you for your order with us! We'll do our best to ensure future orders are shipped in a timelier manner.

Sincerely,

Racquel

So they are awake there! Ye Haw! Back too awaiting patiently for maggots to arrive on my door step. Something sick and wrong about that?

John, Thanks for the offer of worms. I'll take you up on that if Worm Man doesn't come through.

Doug, noting the silvercup feed, a few weeks ago when I bought new fish i bought some silvercup feed from the farm and so looked up their site. On it they have a very interesting section on aquaculture specifics, some very useful information. I posted it on the forums here but it received no response, strange in my eyes but I guess thats the way it goes.
Here is the post:

Yes I am within around 2 hours to the Royal Tyrell Museum, some stunning fossils there indeed.

Hi John. Rachael got back to me as well. Looks like they need a squeeky wheel to wake them up. Glad it is going to be OK...or should I wait for you to have the BSF before I say that!

Thanks Hayden.
The Silvercup feed was used at many facilities I visited last summer. It was highly recommended. I was told they would work with large customers to provide custom feed with special ingredients. They also said that they were excellent to work with and very concerned about the success and satisfaction of their customers.

All that excellent information they provide on their web site www.silvercup.com is an example of their helpful attitude. I did not know about that.

Thanks for the heads up.

Silvercup sounds nice, although when I selected Tilapia to get the recommended food, the protein came out a little higher than I expected for fry and fingerling. Dave Donley and I are trying Zeigler Brothers http://www.zeiglerfeed.com/finfish.htm which is actually located very close to his home. $15US for a 44lb bag of Bronze floating pellets tossed into the back of Dave's car. I've almost used up the cichlid food I had leftover from other aquariums, so I'll be breaking in to my first bag of 'Z' soon.

Thanks for the effort Doug.
In my perfect world of customer service I invision a constant but not nagging relationship with the purchaser. Ie thanks for your purchase your item is in the mail or thanks for your purchase we will not be able to ship just yet due to blah blah blah, but your item request will be filled asap.
If it takes me more effort to square a deal with one vice another its not worth my time.
I'm pretty sure I won't be doing business with wormman in the future reguardless of my BSF arrival. It's a choice one has to make.
Thanks again.

Just as I see it John.
Janet, Silvercup has many formulations as standard product. Several facilities I visited were raising Tilapia exclusively on Silvercup products and they used more than one product for different age fish. That said. Zieglerfeed is also a very well respected feed supplier. The price you paid is very low, so excellent choice.

The big thing with feed is shipping that much weight. It really pays to have a local source where you can drive once or twice a year.

Thanks for the web link Janet.

Zeigler is like 20 minutes N of our house; they were kind of slow to get the forms filled out for someone just walking in to buy, but now that I'm in the system it should be easy to re-up.

As a bonus the town around the mill smells like fish food freshly baked, right out of the oven!

I used to live in a town that had a Purina mill that made breakfast cereal. That was a much nicer smell.

Real farmers have no sympathy for dudes worrying about a little smell. Barn yards and chicken coops temper them for life.

Of course, this has nothing on mothers and diapers.

But, come on...you can understand...I have had a sheltered life

Move here. We get mushroom barn smells. For those unfamilar with mushroom farming, they use composted horse manure. Lots of it.

If you want to get better smells in town, move to Hershy PA, home of Hershey Chocolates.
