do you know that Australians are practically the only people to have even heard of chokoes, let alone eaten them

Choko is known as Christophene in at least some of the Carribean. I'd never heard the name Choko, but when I saw the picture, it looked familiar. And yes, I've eaten it. Tasted like zucchini. Pretty decent.

Does that mean I'm Australian?!?!

They were put here for the sole purpose of creating the Lord of the Rings and allowing us to laugh at their expense in manners concerning sheep. Baah!

What about cantaloupes? When I picked up the fish at Janet's we took a trip to Longwood Gardens, and they had pictures from back in the day when they grew cantaloupes vertically, and used a little net to support each fruit while they grew.

I grow both cantalopes and cukes vertically. Saves space in my little dirt garden. Mostly mini cantalopes with no net. When it falls off, I know it's ripe. The smaller ones at least don't break when they fall a few feet.

here's an interesting thought... if you don't want an edible vine, what about the butterfly vines? I wonder how they would go in AP?

We have had so much rain over the past 2 days that the wheelie bin system has overflowed on both days (Each time I drained the water down so that it was at least 15cm from the top,,, )

A quick update - we placed some wire mesh ontop of the smaller shed this past week fot the cucumbers to grow into and they have already started to grow up the mesh... I still wonder if this system can support that many cucumber plants...
