Mental note to self :naughty: Self no matter how big a day you had today and are going to have tomorrow DO NOT TAKE A SHORTCUT WITH THE AP :crazy3:
Long story short. get home and not enough flow for the indexing valve to work, no problem chances are the mesh cover on the pump is blocked..... and it was (with baby yabbies) instead of taking it off and cleaning like I knew I should.... it was late so I thought I would just take it off a replace it tomorrow in daylight and if the pump munched up a yabby overnight so be it, started the system back up all happy
Check the system an hour later and only one station is getting water..... yep the pump got a yabby, let’s just say Yabby nil indexing valve nil and early night FAIL :upset:

Warning the following image depicts a yabby that got eaten before it could get eaten

5 weeks on from the extensions and all is going well, still need to watch how much we feed the fish but hoping a fish and chip night in the next week will alleviate the stocking densities

All the plants other than strawberries are going well not sure if it’s just too hot or there are other issues with them but all of them have the black tips on the leaves :dontknow: Still taste great though :D

Long time between drinks :eat:

Good thanks Charlie and yourself???

Been tied up between work and the AP plus a little tour of Tasmania, wow what a place (and hay trout would grow in the AP all year round :D )

Now its starting to cool off we are back to the normal system, we have been suffering with sunburn on almost everything over the last couple of months :angryfire:

The main thing now is the bugs! just getting a chance to throw around some Dipel is hard to find at ATM but with some luck this weekend!

The other problem we have is splitting watermelon, I read somewhere it could be due to the heat :dontknow:

Still planning on making a cover for the system, I have acquired some steel just need to stitch it together (again a time thing :banghead: )

Until I get a chance to improve the system at least we get the spoils

Beer battered SP would have to be one of the favourites though :thumbright:

Very impressive system Savness10 :salute: , your use of indexing valves and flood & drain times seems to work well (good growth), when your system was smaller were you getting more flood & drains per hour? if so, have you noticed much difference in growth?

Yes it has gone from 20/40 to 20/60, and I haven’t noticed any difference, I was worried about the grow beds drying out too much over summer but there is still a small amount of water in the bottom of each one when the cycle comes back around and the media is still damp :dontknow:
