Well it has been over two weeks since I placed my order for BSF through the wormman.com site. Sent an email 3 days ago as to the status of the order. No answer. I do not recommend using them for a supply way tooo slow or a dead site? Lesson learned.

Sorry people, 70 C should be the one, as 70 F would be right around room temp (21 C) and wouldn't dry anything very fast.
Take a look at some of the dehydrators out there. They are reasonably easy to build with a bit of craftiness. I will take some photos of mine when I get the chance.

I too received no response from the wormman site when inquiring about phoenix worms. Perhaps they don't have a proper supply anymore and so do not bother with replying...not such a good business policy though.
Found a company here in Alberta, Canada though, so once time permits I'm on my way.

That sucks GF, let us know one way or another.

You could have had them shipped from Australia in that amount of time!

I sent an email to wormman (located in New Jersey) and asked them to justify their delay in responding to John. I mentioned we were members of a large forum with about a dozen people watching as potential customers. After you hit 'send', they promise 24 hour response. We will see. I will post their reply here or report no response.

This is where I was going to order. Their advertising on the web is how I found that BSF larvae are also called Phoenix worms. I searched on 'Phoenix worms' and found another source in Califonia. There were not a lot of choices. My timing would indicate an order in late April or early May for me.

It is interesting that Hayden found a local source. People are using them in cold climate...maybe as lizard food? :P  I know Hayden is not that far from Dinosaur Provincial Park :!: I am very interested to see what John and Hayden find out about raising them.

Alright, I did some serious research on Phoenix worm suppliers. The one that supplies Disney and many zoos is www.phoenixworm.com. As you might guess from their name...it is not a sideline for them. I see that 1200+ with shipping included is $59.00US. They state that they do not ship outside USA. That is where I will get mine in April.

Glad you found some locally Hayden. John, this looks like the answer IMO.
Janet, let us know how wormman does on worms.

What a pain when you find a poor business man like wormman to deal with. I wanted to order my 500 fish to start up and there is a supplier about 60 miles from my house. He does not return phone calls, so I ordered from an Ohio supplier who is responsive and helpful. They are in Cincinnati 300 miles away. They will deliver free with their tank truck and bring me 4: 40 lb bags of Silvercup feed in the truck, also no shipping. What a difference in businesses!

I agree Doug takes out the middle man as well I think Phoenixworm.com is the main supplier to all the other folks. Still waiting on a response from the worm man but not holding my breath.
Janet when you purchased your worms from them did you have to do a google checkout for payment?

I did Paypal to pay Worm Man, and they took the money the day I ordered. My ship date is March 19. We'll see what happens next week.

I did a credit card purchase Doug havent received my statment for that period yet so no idea if it was charged. The checkout site I was sent to has a purchase order and such but the wormman site shows no order history. I have sent them another email straight from the site form, so we will see. As for your question did I lose the money? Not yet.
Just setting off the spidey senses when no response and the site fourms seem to be dead.
If it does end up being a wash I have the google site to complain to and the credit card folks as well. Cutting back on the Rum to make up the difference Will Not be an Option! No worries.

mmmm, for me the google site said it would show up on my cc as google wormman.com
Maybe nothing to worry about as it was snowing like the blazes when I ordered em.
Janet, if you desire worms in the future just PM me and I can box up some for you, of course you get which ever ones I grab from the bin. Mine were spose to be european night crawlers and red wigglers, think a bunch are actually tigers being sold as wigglers. Anyways your choice thanks.
