Had the alfresco light on last night and went outside to hundreds of flying things. Not normally that bad but.

So I was told by the people who I got the silver perch from that they will be fine in a tank with goldfish, but guessing this isn't true.
I started off with 10 goldfish and am now down to 5. I went out with a light last night to check on them and witnessed the silvers chasing the goldfish around the tank. Im guessing it will be a silvers only tank soon enough.

I think I need to get a bit of shade cloth to go over the tank. Starting to develop a bit of algae on the bottom of the tank.

Hey Rob,

You are meant to feed the silvers you know! I'd chase down a gold fish if the food had been held back too.

We have fly screens on the house, but hey don't stop midgies, or other small flying critters.

Can't have windows open at the moment to get the fresh breeze in. Anybody got an alternative to standard screen material.

They dont seem to eat while im there watching them so I chuck in some pellets, come back half hour later and scoop out left overs. Might try them on a different pellet.

The silver perch don't seem interested in eating floating pellets. When I squash them up so they sink, they eat them.
Is this a common thing with perch?
