Nothing happened to their fish... they are growing very slowly... I will try to get another updated video of them soon.

the new system is currently being run as a hydro as the fish tank, radial flow filter and bio filter haven't been finished yet. there will be fish in there just not yet...

some more progress shots... no fish yet, just running on charlie carp, seasol, chelated iron, banana peels and water seeded from the original system until the remaining pluming can be completed

thanks Jay,

Banana peels are loaded with nutrients plants need to flourish, including potassium, potash, calcium, magnesium, sulfur, phosphates and sodium.

banana peels especially help tomato and green pepper plants thrive

I'd like to know that too, mashing into a growbed would just make a rotten mess...

I rinse the peel and bury straight in the GB, usually next to a tomato or capsicum.

Noticeable differences? If you bury near a tomato, can you see a difference to one that doesn't have one?

And how many would you put in per system/grow bed ?

CF or FD or doesn't matter?

Thanks Charlie and Ice. Do you think it's worth doing in soil too? I have some tomatoes growing in pots in potting soil. Do you think it would be worth supplementing?

I started doing it because I read it here on the forum a long time ago that it can be benificial for flowering/fruiting plants due to the potassium boost, whether it works or not I couldnt really say as I havnt done any side by side tests. For me it was an easy organic solution.

In my dirt garden I use combinations of thrive, compost, blood and bone and organic lifter for all the required goodies but I suppose a banana peel would be ok too.
