 Hello everyone,

I just joined this aquaponics forum and am happy to find a community to share ideas with as I build my first test systems and scale up in the future.

My skillset is of a technical nature with a love of plants, animals (especially tasty fishes) and machines with equal fervor.

I am planning a small indoor aquaponics system on minimal PV power (whatever that means- I guess the plants and fish will tell me that...) that uses a hydronic loop for heating the tank from a solar thermal panel in the winter.

I used to be an avid angler and I took courses on aquaculture 10 years ago. In the summer I grow a nice little garden and all winter, I tend herbs and spices in a tiny, partially subterranean greenroom. I am really excited about combining these modalities.

The plan is to remodel said greenroom and put the plants up top, and the tank down below. I have room for about a 400 gallon tank and the concrete floor to support it

There will be questions and obstacles along the way, there is no doubt.

The information in this forum that I have perused so far is exactly what I have been looking for and I saw many very civil and helpful conversations answering many of the initial questions I already had.

Thanks to all who share wisdom openly and offer hard-won, first hand info that saves many of us time and money in the process of following the same path.

Thanks to all who ask questions and ponder new ideas and redefine what is possible through simple curiosity and imagination.

Cheers, and may we all prosper at no one elses' expense.
