Idaho gets signifgantly colder for longer periods than Texas. Hell 2 years ago I was wearing shorts and a T shirt 3 days before christmas. The only thing Idaho has going for it is the weather is predictable compared to Texas. Here, it may be 80 today and 40 by midnight.

Yeah, like highs today of almost 90 and low in the 50's.

That is because Texas is a more arid/desert climate?

Only the western part. I live in the east part which is Piney woods. Texas is over 800 miles across, so we have a bit of every type of terrain.
