First of all I currently have two goldfish and one was sick with fin rot so I added Melafix to the system. It wasn't until after i added the 8 ml that I realized that it probably wasn't a good idea....

Am I going to be okay or do I need to change all of my grow media, water, and so forth?

This is what I found on Melafix. I wouldn't worry about it if it is truly what they say it is.

A patented, natural, antibacterial remedy for the treatment of fresh and saltwater aquarium fish diseases.

MelaFix contains tea tree extract, long known for its healing properties. Heals open wounds & abrasions; promotes regrowth of damaged fin rays & tissue; treats fin & tail rot. Will not harm the biological filter, alter the pH or discolor water. Safe for reef aquariums & live plants. For use in fresh or salt water.

Ahh good ol' tea tree oil, my favorite anti bacterial treatment. Great for mosquito bites, cuts, infections, reef cuts, cleaning gum from carpet and a million other uses, every home should have a bottle in their medicine cabinet.
Melaleuca Alternifolia.
Antibacterial.
I would assume it would not be great for the bio filter.
But I'm sure the dose is minimal so just roll with it and let us know the effect. :thumbright:

As a general rule... don't use any aquaria based treatments...

Many are proven carcenogens.. and not intended for use with fish destined for human consumption...

Melaflex, malachite green, methyl blue etc.... might be fine for ornamentals etc... but not in AP systems...

They have been banned for use in aquacultuture for these reasons...

As you probably don't intend to eat your goldfish WalrusHat... probably no great harm done...

But I'd look to other treatments in the future... salt, at various levels.. will deal with most problems...
