Andrew from 1Aquaponics is holding a workshop in Salisbury on the 5th, I think it's mostly about system design but Andrew and crew have a wealth of knowledge about all things AP so I'm sure there will be plenty of time to pick their brains about other things.
Have a look here: http://1aquaponics.com.au/aquaponic-1-day-workshop/
I went to his 1 day conference a couple of months ago and it was well worth it.
Cheers,
David

I just read a post on Andrews forum..

Quote:
Hello everyone.

I finished making myself a basic IBC system today. It has 700L of
water that is pumped up into a bed on top. The bed on top has 250L
worth of clay growing media. Don't know if it matters too much, but
the pump is a 3000L an hour submergible and I plan to run it through
cycles at around 10 different times a day.

My setup is generally in the shade of my garage veranda.

I am confused about how many fish I should have. My friend has the
same setup and runs 50-100 fish at a time. He rarely has deaths and
eats/harvests at about 600g+. I wanted to have 50 fish at a time, to
make it worth it. I will have silver perch. My friend has proved this is
doable, but every experienced person has told me that it is way over
stocked. What's the general feeling? I will also be getting 1-2 large air
stones to go in.

I think his friend is telling porkies.... :) Hopefully Andrew will set him straight.
