Greetings everyone!

We are setting up an Aquaponics demonstration system in India at my backyard space.
It is almost 2 months old and have over 4000 fishes in a 55 kL pond.
There are over 500 different plants growing in a combination system of E&F growbeds and using NFT.

I have been looking at various Backyard Aquaponics forum posts for ideas, they are immensely helpful. I am so thankful and happy to join you all folks today.

Look forward to more useful posts and to share our experiences - good, bad and ugly ones.

Anyone doing active aquaponics in India?

Kind regards, vkn

PS: Our first spinach crop is ready.. we will make a partial harvest tomorrow. Now I get to grow food and feed people. This is so much more rewarding than my previous BPO businesses :)

Enjoyed the video and the system looks like it's going great. What kind of fish do you have?

Thanks and I had made a rather lengthy blog post on this subject at my blog.

Please do read this.

In brief, it is a polyculture.. tilapia, 50%, catla, 25%, rohu, 12.5%, common carp and mrigal, 12.5%. They are mostly tilapia and carp species.
