Harvested the first of my trout. I am sure that you have all seen trout before so I 'll try and post things a little differently.

These little babies made a very lovely ceviche. Very quick and dead set easy, just leave overnight- no cooking. It is pickled in lemon juice with sugar, onion, tomato and coriander.

Hey Faye, the trout dish looks delicious.

Might have to give that one a crack when I get home :thumbright:

What breed of Rabbits do you keep?

My parents have been keeping meat rabbits for years, Flemish giants and NZ whites. Do you give them Sulphur in their diet to guard against the mozzies?

Cheers

That sounds very similar to the type of rabbits we have Muzz.
Went and checked this morning and yay we have babies. Here is a sneak peek. So everyday they will get a bowl of leaves from my ap system. Spoilt little possums.

Hadn't heard about sulphur in their diet before but I believe there is sulphur in garlic. How and where do you buy it? Their enclosure was made to be mozzie proof but I do admit I burnt a sandalwood stick in there the other night just to be sure.

You can buy powdered Sulphur from the stock feed stores. By memory they feed goat muesli with a sprinkle of the sulphur on it. I'll check next time I'm over there.

Got told by the wife last night that we're inheriting a Rabbit from one of my daughters freinds. Looks like I might be buying some soon too.

Taadaa Matthew, here is the rhubarb. I picked 4 more stalks the other day and it has a baby plant developing. We have now had two harvests so far. Thankyou for sharing it with me Matthew. So glad it stayed red.

Hi Faye, I caught up with my parents today and asked about Sulphur for the Rabbits. She referred me to an article that stated Sulphur is used for external parasites, Fleas,Lice and Mosquitoes. It is fed at a rate of 1/4 teaspoon daily for and adult Rabbit. Sulphur intake should not exceed 2% of body weight.

Cheers Muzza
