Approximately 1000 members of the notorious Rebels bikie gang crossed the nullabour and into the wild west of Kalgoorlie today.

Its not too often you get to experience the roar of that many gasket splitters in one place. Over the years Ive watched these guys pass through town and I cant say I remember a pleasant visit for the community but it definitely is a cool thing to watch and hear.

The problems we have here when these gangs arrive in mass is that we already have an overpowering mass of big burley, testosterone driven cliche psychopaths that want to crush anything that looks at them sideways. Its going to be a big night of biffo.... it always is.

I know a couple of local Rebels members and they have told me in the past that the gang always dreads stopping over in Kal.

Whats funny is that the police have told the journo's that they are not escorting them... which I suppose is kinda true... but they are definitely driving with them. There would have been 20 odd police cars leading the pack and a number scattered through the rest of the group.

Should be an interesting night....

We have something similar in Gettysburg (Bike Week) but thankfully it isn't about a gang it's just a lot of enthusiasts filling up the town with cool bikes. Lots of regular people who love their motorcycles. The motorcycle parade goes through town in a continuous stream and lasts about 45 minutes.

Imagine how long it would take to get them all through each service station.

Your post reminded me of the Sturgess South Dakota rally - tiny town, huge number of bikers. Kind of along the same lines but also not really gang related.

Apparently they were banned/restricted from entering the pubs in town so Id say they just all stayed at the club house. I havnt heard any good goss yet unfortunately.

in that case the local publicans would have missed out on a lot of business.

Id say the bottle shops and supermarkets got some buisness so thats good. For what the pubs here charge for a beer I hope they lost buisness to be honest.

:)
