arbe, that is the height of laziness! You should be pushing a heavy petrol mower if you want to be a real man.

They have thrown in an old ride on with the sale price but apparently it needs work. They said it takes a few hours to mow so I better get a stubbie holder fitted.

I like the zero turn, Arbe. Have you seen the new Husqvarna Riders? Its a new breed of mower that is articulated AWD and has the cutter is out front instead of its usual central position. Pretty cool rig.

Does more than two stubbies count as drunk driving on one of those?

Just think of it like quad bike riding :grin:The place looks restful but maybe not with that much mowing.

@MartinC: The first place I rented was a small 2 bedroom house on a half acre block. I used to mow that with a petrol mower - used to take me an hour and a half. As soon as my son could walk he would be following me with his little plastic mower.

@Charlie: That is a cool looking rig. There are a couple of ride ons and zero turns for sale in the area on Gumtree, but I think this one will be the best one for you: http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/goonella ... /311028598

I have a lovely lawn, never needed to mow it though.

I think it would be perfect - if the Mrs is harrassing you, you can tell her you are going to mow the lawn, then head down to your shed and tinker with it to get it to work, never succeed at getting it to work, but at least you can raid the fully stocked beer fridge in the shed....

Good plan arbe although when the grass is shoulder high the Missus might notice the lack of any actual mowing.

Don't forget the catcher Charlie, so that you can collect the clippings and make great compost.
Is there bushland or just manicured lawns? My rideon gets beaten up when I get too close to stumps and run over things that are hiding in the long grass. Those little front wheels don't look like the work horse that say" I am a go anywhere kind of machine".

arbe, that is brilliant. And then the fire dept. will arrive and water your lawn for you!

Charlie I think faye is implying that your choice of manly machine is a little bit on the pansy side.
