If Everything works out, this is the Backhoe that I will use to repair and expand the pond. It is a John Deere 315SE 4X4, 4 in 1 bucket extendedhoe.

And this is the new tool that I be using to make my own lumber for the new improved Greenhouse Aquaponics. It will be a very long and slow moving project. I have to drop down about 100 trees. It is a sawmill. I am getting the LM2 model which is all Hydraulic .

A man is never too old for a good toy!
I do love good toys, this one, is more than just a toy. I got to move a lot of mud and dirt. And then going to use it to push the big trees where I want them to fall, before the chain saw goes to work.

Sounds a lot like my dad Zubin! He's out in Oregon and wanting to get a big tree harvester/ mill machine with his brother to sell huge planks to these million dollar house builders (in his retirement). Full steam ahead brotha!

You know the saying... You can tell the men from the boys from the price of their toys.

Nice looking machine, Z. Enjoy.

Damn son, what did you do? Win the lotto?

Always did like those log lifters on the side of the bandsaw mills. Saves a lot of hammering from dumping logs directly onto the machine. And scarring from the forks or grapple.

Hope you enjoy. And thanks for posting pics of the pool system build. Makes us feel like we can expect good things from this thread in the future!

Hey Bill, if I had won the lotto, I would have paid some one to do the job for me!

Just clearing the area they gave me an estimate that I almost soiled myself!! They said around $50K!!
Also, price of lumber to build that big dream green house has gone up so much. The 2 X 12 X 16 has almost doubled. And these government idiots say there is no inflation!! What the hell are they talking about?

I can do the whole thing myself, it just takes time. I am estimating that it be me and myself together to do it all, just like the aquaponics system I built.

Now I have to build a shelter for lumber drying area.
The saw mill should get here about Christmas time frame.

Hum, actually I'm a pretty good heavy equipment operator. Though the stuff I usually drive usually has the driver up in a basket wearing a harness. AND the cook did finally give up and let me do the climbing part of the tree cutting last year when he realized he wasn't as comfortable hanging out of a tree anymore.

But we might have to make some arrangement to take turns driving.

My Uncle has dibs on operating any riding mower we have during the season he is here.

OSHA should present Boom Lift Pins (or stickers for the hard hat) for each 1000 hours working a boom lift.
I'd have a couple at least.

But you can hit the trees if you want. I always hired that part out... unless the tree was being pushed over by my tractor. And it looks like Zubin can handle most anything in his tree lot with that machine.

Yeah, too bad we live so far away from each other. It'd be great to share work experiences. And when Z gets done at TC's place, I've got a list of things for that backhoe...

Harvested 7 tilapia for dinner last night. They are growing in some good size. One of them was 1 lb. All together were 4 lb 12 ounces.
