i noticed last night that one of the little trout wasn't looking the greatest it was swimming around the surface and would tumble back down and then swim again... i came home this afternoon and found it being sucked up by one of the SLO's.

Other than slight bleeding around the gills there wasn't anything obvious as to what caused the fatality. Cut her open and she had definitely been feeding well, a it of fat in the gut, flesh colouring was great and didn't smell at all... all in all it was a bit weird but the chooks had a good feed of fresh fish!!

also harvested all the spring onions in the system to share with friends and family... we just cut the tops off as the will continue to grow quite well in the system

Strange loss with the trout, Iceman. She looks very healthy. Any change in water parameters recently?

ultimately the plan is to run NFTs either side of the greenhouse ,utilise the dirt underneath by continuing the silver beet. one IBC, RFF, K1 moving bed bio filter and a sump...

Will most likely keep a small amount of larger fish in there to keep the system ticking over nicely!!

Hey Ice,

Would love to see some pics of how you make the windows. Something I want to do in the future but I am not confident as I have never seen a "how to".

Regards, Martin.

Sorry Ice I made the comment and then saw that I was on page 1 of a 14 page thread. One page 2 you stated you had dropped the window in the FT idea.
