you can put the drain wherever you want i would put it in the middle of the bed and drain strait into the tank best not to try sealing it. All the systems iv Done haven't needed any welding or heat gun that was just for fun. you can see that system in the background of the last photo.

And yes to make the circle i did flip the stencil but instead of sharp corners at the join i rounded them off.
Ill see wat i can do about uploading the stencil i have been playing with differnt ways of doing just that. you might be able to see some of the measurments on there.

so there are lots of different types of barrels but this one seems to work well with most barrels. I have lots of template/stencils that i have made but this one is a copy of my favourite so far.

I will combine those images and convert them to a pdf (and make it available if you approve). If you can add the width and height of the working parts of the template, I can make sure it is scaled properly.
