Just be careful with the glass thermometer Jaco, my cousin had one in an aquarium which broke - most of his fish jumped out....

Here is some photos of the system so far.
I couldn't find the correct tool for cutting holes in steal IBC base so I went Bear Grylls on it with the leatherman. Work perfectly but the leatherman has seen better days.

I put the pump outlet through the base of the growbed to try and keep it as tidy as possible, at Delaire looks is more important than function, so it will need to go if there is anything the boss does not like.

Thanks Gazza, I'll keep that in mind, should probably get a digital thermometer in the future.

Added the gravel today, didn't have time to wash gravel. Will drain water tomorrow and clean out FT. Also started to paint the system.

Thanks Jay, the pallet wood looks very nice, might look into that, get one of the farm workers to do it.

Cleaned out most of the mud in FT and added clean water, will salt to 1ppt tomorrow. hope to get fish in during the week, but for now I'm adding leachate from wormery. Will try a compost heater for the rest of the winter as we will keep blue tilapia.

Added 5 small koi/goldfish on friday, so far they are still alive. Installed timer today and set it to run 15 on 45 off and 3 times during the night to agitate the water and induce O². Would like to build a compost heater during the course of this week if I have time.

I still only have the 5 small fish in here, going very slow, not much growth. Did get a few nice baby radishes that looked and tasted very nice. Can't wait for summer so that I can get some tilapia for this system.
