which ones are the catfish?

Your bubble system is cool. Love the pingpong ball.

Could goldfish exist with trout?

Do you think the wooden paneling works well to block light out?>

The pipe offcuts don't collect waste?

Thanks for the shots, it was an adventure.

To answer your questions Jayendra

which ones are the catfish?
the ones with the long thin tails, they are holding up the rear wall in the corner behind the pipes

Your bubble system is cool. Love the pingpong ball.
It needs some tweaking but it works pretty nicely

Could goldfish exist with trout?
I had six goldies in my system when i introduced the trout fingerlings and they didn't last long :dontknow:

Do you think the wooden paneling works well to block light out?
don't know as we have black plastic sheets lining the groweds and insulated refrigeration walls lining the fishtank

The pipe offcuts don't collect waste?
the fish tend to keep them clean... it hasn't been an issue yet

I hope that helps...

There has been a lot going on at Mum & Dad's... Dad has been very busy

Fish tank stand, blue barrel sumps, white left barrel will be a RFF (Radial Flow Filter) and the right white barrel will be a moving bed bio filter (K1 bio media and lots of air).
small pump from sump to NFT racks, both sides of greenhouse, and drain back to sump. larger pump in other sump to return water to fish tank.

one of the two NFT racks...

hey Iceman,

The system is looking cool!
Do the windows on your parents system ever need cleaning? just asking because I have a little fish tank and I have this cool window cleaning thing... it is basically 2 magnets, one of which remains on the inside of the window and has a cloth piece on the window side and the other magnet holds it in place on the outside of the window.. when you drag the outside magnet the inside one follows and cleans the glass...its quite cool. the inside magnet also has a string attached in case it drops down. You might already have seen these but though I would mention it as it is an easy way to keep the window clean. :thumbright:

Would love more info on those.

The widows will stay covered until we want to look in... this helps a lot with ay potential algae growth.

I think the window in the original system hasn't been cleaned since it was covered up.

I know what you are talking about, we have them for the fish tanks in the house

not hard with two people but takes a it of mucking around for the first couple of tries.
lots of silicone, stainless steel bolts, and now we also use stainless steel strips as long washers to ensure a consistent seal around the window
