Why your plants grow so well over here in WA. We dropped into Perth airport 9.25 this morning and stepped out into shirts and shorts weather. Hasn't been like that back home for months :upset:

Anyhoo , now I know why AP has taken off so well here in a mild climate

We are down at Busselton now after a very long day but hope to call into BYAP one day before we head home. Was a bit smelly to do it on the way down today :)

What are you doing over the wild side Mantis? Did you have to declare yourself at customs?

Probably lucky he slipped in Charlie...

The probably would have asked for at least a translocation permit.... or by the sounds of it.... they might have asked him for a health certificate... :D

Welcome to WA, Mantis!

You are in Troutman territory down there. His operation is over near Dardanup, about 50-60km away from Busselton.

I hope you and your family enjoy your time in the sunny west!

Yea I think its best we check with the authorities that a translocation permit has been issued. Were quite strict over here. The wand they ran over Mrs Mantis was a Jade Perch detector... lucky they didnt use it on you or you may have been put back on the plane.

Welcome to WA Mantis.

I came over for a quick visit back in 91 and never made it back. (except for some short releases).

Look up troutman and visit the breweries near his. Wild bull (almost oppposite) and Moody cow (just down road about 3km). Check out Gnomesville on the way.

Thanks Bee. We are going down to visit my brother at Margaret river tomorrow and are just winging it for things to do.
Walked the Busselton peir today (1.8km long for those that don't know it), then the women did some shopping at Dunborough and we had some great food there. I had pan fried Barra and we all agreed that the chips were the best we have ever had

Did you eat at the hotel ??? , keep hearing good reports. Heaps of great eating houses and drinking venues down this way.

Any of the caves , either capes lighthouse and all the coast in between are all worth a look ( Indjidup / Wyadup are beautiful spots and of course Canal Rocks , Conto's , Hamelin Bay etc )

Have a great trip Mantis

Cheers

Dunno the name of the eatery. It was on the corner with tables inside and out. They serve a variety of foods and freshly made juices. Lovely stuff
We did the tour of Australias shortest lighthouse at cape natraliste. Amazing stories of the lighthouse keepers who only lasted two years before they went mad from being exposed to mercury
Any maron farms in the area??

There is Margaret River Marron Farm just south of town a bit, not sure if they are still open to the public though. If you just want a feed you should go to Notting Hill Winery, they serve Marron straight from the lake and you can sit out on the deck and watch the Silver Perch cruise by.

Brothers place in Margeret River is fantastic. Built on a slope with the brother and wife living on the top floor and son and his wife and kids underneath. Wide veranda all around the top floor that three peacocks have made home and two of the fattest black long haired cats
Orchard out the back, a small creek that runs when its raining and big vegie patch along one side

One jealous brother here :)
