Been home for five days and one of those had sunshine. Blind Freddie tells me we had four days with out rain while I was gone but find that hard to believe. Thanks for looking after the system and chooks mate.

A lot on the list to do.

Finish cover over grow beds
Finish fish farm for grow out.
Build wicking beds 16 x half IBCs
Build new chook yard and convert existing into a quail area ?

Mow property, clean out old garden bed/wicking beds, make large compost piles, cut down and trim rest of trees in the front garden and get some sleep.

When my son returns the computers I will post more photos to update the history of this thread.

So have a great weekend from the Rainy coast Queensland. Cheers

Jeepers mate, why is it that the older we get the bigger the list of things to do becomes.

I spent another couple of hours working out in the rain yesterday and today trying to knock a few jobs off the old list myself.

trouble is either the missus or I keep coming up with ideas generating more jobs to do.

Also when your ready to order some more pellets let me know, I want 2 bags of Ridley number 6. I'll pick them up this time. I can do the EFT on line.

No problems mate, my fish are not eating much at the moment and the list has expanded again. Hoping for dry weather next week.

If you are going to be at Yandina need stuff from Fernlands. Cheers

Hi chaps, weather is great here in Townsville, 25 most days and not a drop of rain (Brownsville) Nights get cool in the van. Had baked coral trout for tea, son has been to reef and bought home good feed. We are going out up the river tomorrow for a bit of crabbing. Catch up with photos later.

The system has been running well since I returned home from the NT. Had to do another run to Camooweal to drop our friend of for pickup by her son. Sick of traveling that road while all the road works are on.

Blind Freddie has been giving me a had for the shade structure over the beds and much appreciated. Done some modification to the GB distribution pipe to even out the flow.

HSM this morning, went to check every thing and noticed a lot of crap floating in the tank. Checked timers both pump and air are in the 10 min off period. Emptied the RFF a bit and rechecked timer, pump should be on but it is not. Checked sump and can hear pump running dry. Lifted lid and no water in the sumps, turned pump of and went and checked for leaks. Where I had done the modification the the distribution pipe one join had slipped out and so 1800 litres of water went to the ground.

With the dry weather starting even I can not afford this amount off water. New bore pump has not arrived and the fill system to the bottom rain water tanks still broken I have no way to add more water to the tanks at the moment. First real dry spell in three years and every thing breaks down.

Any way I reconnected the pipe and put a couple of stainless steel screws in to hold the join in place so it does not reoccur. Waiting for the sumps to fill and then will test the pump, have the original pump as backup but will order another one the same as what I am using as a backup replacement.

At lest in happened while I was home and I am giving the emergency air pump a work out till I restart the system. Have a good day because at this end it can only get better.

Sorry to hear, Bear. But as you say - good thing you are home and possibly avoided major HSM.
