Long days on the road!

Enjoy the warmth, and hopefully the dry. Love Darwin. Wish it was only a three day drive from here. Its further than the trip from Perth to Sydney which we did back in 2012 with the three boys in the back.

Enjoyed that 4 week road trip. Should go north via Newman, Port Headland and Broome, Darwin then back down through the guts.

Like me have held off because of the rain, should see the end of it overnight. I am trying to get away by lunchtime tomorrow, so you should be well ahead of me. Has only taken me a week to get out the van and pack it. Freezer in the van, on gas, is running at -23, guess what its all packed with.

Got onto internet and looked at free camp sites, I see that they have an "App" for Camps 7 but I'm not that flash to have a smart phone or Ipad only a laptop. Emailed them to see if would run on a laptop and got reply to just purchase the POI Software (point of interest) for $19.95 and download the Camps 7 POI info straight into my Garmin GPS. Well within the hour it was all finished. Turn on the GPS and brings up all free camping spots within my location. Or scroll through a list of them (Australia wide), easier to just purchase the Camps 7 book, put in the campsite number which brings it up, press the go button and get directions all the way.

You and Molly have a safe trip and catch up when we get back.

Ron grey nomads is the term used to describe retired Aussies who travel around the country in camper vans and caravans.

Do not remember doing a double post.

Safe journey to you and the wife. Every time we go past water tanks out here the wife keeps mentioning fish tanks for some reason. Cheers

Arrived in Adelaide River yesterday late arvo. In time for the daughters farewell as she has accepted a new teaching position closer to Darwin. Sitting at our friends place in Karama while he is cooking fresh caught parrot fish.

The wife and I were looking foreword to our 26th wedding anniversary as this would be the first time in 12 years we have been together for our anniversary. After we had settled into the motel on Tuesday night the wife called the daughter to talk about the day. The daughter said to her mum Happy anniversary and there was stunned silence.

With all the packing and 1100 klm drive we had both forgotten that Tuesday was our 26th wedding anniversary. At lest with us both forgetting there was no problems. Both of us had a good laugh and a wine.

Congrats on the 26th, we had our 50th back in Apr. Just loving the temps up here after seeing home having 7 - 17 and here we are 13 - 26. Dont need a reply to your temps, hear Darwin today 31. Have got some Barra thawed for lunch today, just doing it on the bbq with no fancy dressing.
