I am very excited to present my ideas with people who are interested. I have developed this system with my own engineering. I have also attached the first ever water magnetizer to an aquaponics setup. Water Magnetizers help enhance plant growth. Here are pictures of my green house and newly setup aquponics system. I will also have a live stream inside my green house so people can view my operations. We are located in St.petersburg FL

Water Magnetizers help enhance plant growth.

soooooooooo - where'the research to back that? :D

There is toooons of research on google if you typed it in you will be surprised. I have extensively studied electromagnetic fields and polarityin humans and plants for some time now. Why do you think plants grow up toward the sun? The sun is a positive and the ground is the negative and plants literally get pulled up towards the sun. Here is a good website http://www.moreplant.com/magnetized-water/

Not sure on the magnetized thing but having water run through copper can leach fish killing nasties into your water. Remember that as the system matures the water will become acidic

Well if the water ph is unbalanced it will become acidic. I don't plan on having my water levels unstable. I have hooked up many filtration systems to my tanks. I will keep everyone up to date on my operations with live streams so you can see for yourself my results. I don't think you will be unimpressed by any means.

Also I am not using much copper. And to say the least anyone who has used tap water comes from copper plumbing. The magnitizer will also enhance the fish growth and I have documented this experience with my koi fish who have made tremendous gains in size since I used the magnetizer.

but you have the water continuously flowing through a copper outlet.......

People using washers to hold down airstones have had issues with leeching

Welcome Matthew... nicely "engineered" adaption of the sort of DIY stuff you see all over google...

Nitrification... by the very nature of the process... will trend your system to acidicy...

You can, and we certainly advise that you do.... monitor, and buffer your pH upwards when required...

In general... your system will always be "unstable".... or more correctly.. in a state of flux....

Because it's an evolving system with multiple inputs/outputs...

True... but concerns over Copper in tap water have led to new houses being plumbed with non-metallic piping...

And the length of time any water you might drink is in contact with any Copper pipes is short...

Also... the water supply is unlikely to have an acidic pH...

Whereas in aquaponics... the water is usually acidic...leading to elevated leaching of Copper... which is extremely toxic to fish, and marine organisms...

And is constantly being accumulated... cumulatively... due to the recirculating nature of an AP system...

Trust us... or search the forum, and net.... Copper is an absolute... NO... in aquaponics...

As to magnetised water.... well... water has no magnetic affiliation.... any impurities in it might... and might be attracted to an external magnetic field....

And perhaps the plants might align themselves more closely to the age of aquarius... and grow better...

The fish might start swimming in the opposite direction... or indeed up side down.. if the magnetic poles are reversed.... but probably wont grow faster...

The biggest concern about magnetising your system however.... is that your tin foil hat is likely to get stuck on the side of the system...

Exposing your though waves and brain functions... to both alien and government men in black influence and control....

I'd seriously lose the magnets... :D

And I don't think you can claim to be the first one to attach a "water magnetiser" to an AP system....

Another member did it quite a way back... and indeed the "idea" came up for discussion back in 2008...

Lol I can easily change my design so water will not touch the copper. But good conversations. I still want to pursue my research with the water and magnets. I only said I was the first because I have researched this and couldn't find anything on the two so it was safe to say.

Anyways, what did you guys think of my greenhouse I built? It just survived its first tropical storm with 60mph winds.

From what I understand plants grow towards the sun due to photo-tropism, they grow towards the light because they need light to photosynthesise. If you block off the sunlight and create a light source from a different angle they will grow towards that light.

Not to say that magnetism would play no part in the growth of a plant, but light is undoubtedly the main factor in plant growth as it's the plants main source of energy.

A bit like this guy claiming his compost tea is responsible for his giant vegetables. I think its the 23hrs of sunlight he gets up there in the summer that might have more to do with it
