Got a new light for the tank. A 6 watt submersible LED set up with daylight and moonlight setting.

I think Max was "foxing" you... and just trying to look innocent..... I think he probably has more evil intentions... :D

The mid sized system has just been overhauled with a new 2" (50mm) drain pipe on the aquatic plant bed. This is to allow for plenty of flow around snails cleaning the biofilm off the pipe walls. I think this little modification will be a great success as the 1" overflow just couldnt handle a modest snail or two.

As for the produce, plenty of greens and herbs are coming into the kitchen and many tomatoes have been feverishly enjoyed fresh off the vine. Other fruits are on the way, including melons. A pineapple top has sprouted in the grow bed too. The aquatic plant bed continues to produce food for the chickens and fish in the form of fresh water amphipods, snails, Lemna minor and Azolla carolinensis. Here are some pics of two toms and a melon.

Food from your own production tastes better than any other food.

What a great adventure - and in the desert as well. All power to you! :notworthy:

Do you feel that the vibes from the ashram have contributed to this success?

Yes, KrisGee, the vibes from the ashram have contributed to the success. Positivity has left me feeling full and fueled for more work. Excavation of the large pond in my backyard is slow and laborious work but the inspiration to keep moving on is with us. Almost ready to start the ferrocement and eventually have a much larger system flowing.

Oh my! We love those cats. Here is a some photographic evidence of cats and dogs peacefully coexisting. A picture may say a thousand words and to me this one says: 'Peaceful coexistence occurs when everyone is being fed.'

Newest project in the works: finger-lapped, wooden, solar powered AP boxes. These will be finished, operational, and ready for display by Oct 5-6 for the Earth Harmony Festival in Tubac Arizona.
