Hello All,
Little bit about myself before the question, I am new to the AP community and have not set up my future system as I am an American Soldier currently deployed. I have been giving AP some thought for about 6 months now and about to get serious about it when I return home. I want to learn the basics through trial and error and through my research I think I can achieve this best through an ebb and flow system. I haven't worked out all the design yet but I plan to start small scale with say a 20 gal fish tank. So now to the question. If I plan on the ebb and flow method with a bell siphon in my GB is there a need for a filter off of the fish aquarium, or does the medium act as the filter? I'm sure more questions are to come when I return home and put my thoughts to application.
