Might be wise if you are stocking anything in there.

It overflows out the SLO fine which is safe for fish but the sumps will end up overflowing I think.

I might make an overflow pipe temporarily so it doesn't go over the lip of the sump and waste nutritious aquaponics water.

Or I could just halve the water or make another growbed/sump

Emptied 250 litres as it was getting close to full on the sump.
Topped up with some rain water.

PH has dropped significantly to 6.6
ammonia has halved to 2
Nitrites have halved to 2
Nitrates have increased to 40

This is the growth of bed 2 which went in a little later than the other bed and is shallower and has had more water through it.

Questions:

Can I get fish soon?

Should I flush the left over dirty water with some new rain water as my water tanks are overflowing.

Wait until your ammonia and nitrites have dropped to zero... you're close...

Yeah the roots are amazing.

When I pulled it out, it was easy like butter.

I think the resistance is less than soil so the roots can grow quicker.

Close but no cigar?

There is still ammonia at .5
but no nitrites 0
the nitrates are currently more like 80ppm
Ph has dropped to 6 - should I add some shell grit?

Going halves in some fish food with torcz another forum member.

Yep you are ready for fish I reckon. Put some shell grit in a stocking or similar and hang it under a water return somewhere, and then you can remove it if the ph gets too high

Today I got my fish!!!
They had been fed earlier that morning and the guy couldn't catch many so he's going to deliver the rest on monday.
I got 6 trout and 24 delivered on monday
They are yearlings 15-20cm long :)

Big thanks to all who have chimed in to help :)

Question - I'm not getting feed until next weekend 1st June - the guy said they will survive for 1-2weeks without feed, is this okay?

Today I put 3 eggwhites in to try and clear the water.
I'm currently running constant flood.

I've got a filter of chux cloths above the fish tank with the pump running onto it.
