One of my neighbours is a potato grower and is subject to rigid constraints. My understanding is that what he grows, in terms of potato varieties, how much he grows and even when he grows it, is dictated to him by the WA Potato Board. Of course, the sale of his crop is controlled by the Board, as well.

Wasn't that how we got the spud shed, one of them told the Potato Board to *frack* off?

So apart from the government dictating to.farmers what they can grow, Im still waiting for evidence for "big food companies" doing the same thing. CybernX, Ronmaggi ?

Durrr, they sign non disclosure agreements, no one can say anything... :dontknow: For gods sake, even for Faye to get a replacement fridge, for her fridge that has failed from when she bought it, she had to sign an agreement not to say anything about it...

SV, I highly recommend that you watch Food Inc. and watch or read The Botany of Desire. If you want to supply McDonalds with potatoes for their fries, then you better grow russet Burbank potatoes.
