I am planning a system using 2x6 boards for a surround with plywood on the buttom. Inside that use a black plastic liner. For the tank/ resivour I can set the pump inside to pump up to the plant tanks. Where I am at a loss is getting the water out of the plant tanks. I can't drill a hole in the end to secure a fitting.

Any ideas would be appriciated.

I use bulk heads for this.


drill the size hole you need in your wood. In the pond liner i just make a small slice over the wood hole then use the bulk hed to stretch the hold to the right size. The bulk head comes with a washer so you shouldnt need to silicon but i do.

I silicone between the liner and the wood and between the parts of the bulkhead and your grow bed.
