This is the only place i could see that was specifically geared towards iron chelates (admittedly I didn't look at every single post). Anyone see any reason why this isn't just iron chelates and what I should buy?

i wouldn't use that, it has a "soil acidifier?!?!?!".. if you want to add iron chelates, use maxicrop with iron.. you can find that on amazon

lol soil acidifier would be good as my PH is at 8.1 :). I went and bought the other maxicrop :( without iron. Would prefer to buy just normal iron but if I can't find it then i'll pick up the other bottle. Just sad to waste a whole bottle of the other stuff.

from the label of the other stuff
"Formulation: Iron 4.6%
Plus Copper, Sulfur, and Zinc"

copper and zinc are not good for the fish

:( ya that's what i was wondering. Are you able to find iron chelate on amazon? Like I say, i can get the seaweed, but I'd prefer to get normal iron so that i can use up the rest of the seaweed i have.

Sure seems like there's not a good alternative to the maxicrop with iron :)

This product does have some lead.
http://oda.state.or.us/dbs/heavy_metal/detail.lasso?-op=eq&product_id=960

their 0.2-0-1 formulation doesn't have any lead detected.

The Maxicrop plus iron didn't have any lead detected (not saying there isn't any there). The only thing I can say is that either one will work but only use it when you have a deficiency and not on a regular basis - to prevent accumulation of lead whether you know it's in the product or not.

You can look up other products off of these state databases.

Hi everyone, I'm an FNG to the maximum and actually haven't even started anything system wise apart from R&D. However I have just viewed a vid on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4_hCAnymFw which I think has some very good info in regards to Iron Chelates...

Hope everyone's system is going great!

B
