I realise that it's handy in AP to have fish that stay small until the bigger ones get eaten, allowing for an extended/consistent harvest of fish. And that with silvers some stay small until the larger fish are harvested and the competition for food decreases.
I was wondering (just an academic question really) if someone wanted a more even grow rate do you reckon they could feed small fingerling size pellets at the same time as the ration of larger pellets?
My assumption that the bigger fish would selectively feed on the larger pellets while they are available and give the little runts a chance to feed on the smaller ones in the meantime.
It's late so maybe this is silly, whaddya think?

Thanks IMDude, I gotta be honest and admit I don't have any sort of system atm.
Just had the thought and since I was a bit tipsy decided to share. :)
I do like the varied growth for growing fish for home consumption so it isn't a problem, my brain just went for a stroll last night off the leash.

Are you human?: Only after 3 coffees
Location: Happy Valley, Adelaide, SA,Australia.
I feed 6 mm and 4 mm at the same time and I have 3 different size fish in my system. Have not noticed any dying from lack of food giving that they are slowing down due to the tank temperatures..

Will be separating in a few months when I build the fish farm, then I will stock only once in the main tank instead of staggering for different growth rates.
