OK... So it's getting to be time to seriously consider fish. Going with a tilapia. Probably blues. While I'm getting up to speed on *optimum* feeds any opinions on this makeup? It's available locally @ 50# bags for about $25 I believe.

I'm obviously living in the wrong country.... You all are as sick and twisted as me. And just as sharp.. :)

Thanks for the confirmation.... And more importantly, the laugh, guys... I needed that. It's been a week around here for sure...

Well then I'm at fault for winding them up Rupe. It was the porcine meal in the ingredient list.

Man... Tilapia and bacon... Hell, my keyboard and bacon... NOW we're talkin'..... :headbang:

Are you human?: debatable

Fishbits, you might pull up Premium Fish Food's site and look at the various tilapia feeds they have. Their fingerling food has 50% protein and their grow-out pellet has 36%. There are a couple of intermediate steps along the way as well and each contain different ingredients, and have different nutrition profiles. I'm not sure how much of a difference all of that makes but my tilapia are doing very well on their feed.

Thanks gn... I looked at Premium.... And while the fingerling and fry powers look good, their grow out is comparable in protein to Sportsman's Choice Trophy @ 36%. Fat is lower though. Once you tack on shipping, Premium's cost begins to become prohibitive especially when I can pay $0.40/lb locally. Fry/fingerling powers may be worth the re-visit when the time comes though....

Shipping definitely comes into play, but I wonder if it would be worth it in the long run. The long list of ingredients in the feed you posted would make me shy away from it, despite the cost. Plenty of weird stuff there that I'd rather not eat down the road.
