It seems that the US has a very established standard for terminology and pipe sizing related to chain link wire fences.

They are also readily available in local hardware stores.

It seems we do not have standard sizes here in Aus, nor specific terminology for things like the fence pipe clamp fittings. There are a couple website that sell both, but not all are local. So you find yourself trying to cost up standard chs pipes from steel merchants, and the look for the clamps elsewhere. It makes it very difficult to do a cost analysis on building a hoop house out of fence rails and fittings.

Has anyone else looked into chain link or rail fencing to know what I should be googling to find suppliers/manufactures if the pipe clamps/fittings?

Searches for things like "gal pipe clamps" "fence pipe connectors" and similar are not producing the number if website I would like, and mix too many water pipe fittings into the results.

Perhaps search for "chain link fence top rail fittings".... or "top rail fittings"....

Fence post/piping uses NB (norminal Bore) not OD (outside diameter)

I got all my stuff at Robot Trading, I'm sure you would have similar outlets near you

Yeah Rupe, those search terms seem to return all the US sites, as these are the terms they use.

Its also known as cyclone fencing.

Thanks Charlie, that's the ticket. This is what I was looking for, a completely different term to search by.

I already tried that one Yav, it is a brand name, so is not a commercial standard term. Although, the best option for "cyclone" seems to be ARCfencing (they are in sydney to). My hesitation was that "cyclone" might be more expensive than competitors given their excellent branding status. I really wanted to explore options.
