These guys have pretty much copied our "guide to aquaponics" from our website and put it on their website, just reworded a little here and there... leafygills DOT com That's not so bad, hey people copy stuff, and at least they have changed the wording a little bit, still pretty slack though....

But taking the cycling diagram and putting your own logo and water mark on it? That's a bit rough..

I would say that falls under criminal act. Copying without permission is a breach of the copyright, but putting your own logo and company name in it is IMHO theft of intellectual property. Which is much more severe than just copying. If I were in your position I would activate all legal means, including an official charge at your local police station. Chok Dee!

BTW: in this case I say "I know you can do it, and better you do!

Why do people have to be so difficult...

I was going to post up some of the email conversation I've been having with this guy today, it's just unbelievable. Evidently I'm more concerned in getting personal credit than teaching people about aquaponics, I don't care or respect others points of view, and I'm being juvenile, and just silly. and there's nothing original about aquaponics anyway. That's the excuse, I've pretty much copied your stuff word for word because:

Australia has no laws to protect intellectual property? BS, EB. Look into it. These matters are worldwide protected, and surely Oz has signed too. Images are very strong protected!!! His arguments will never hold in court.

Also, file complain with Youtube. Changes are these guys get blocked, breaching copyrights!

Yeah, but this sort of thing happens almost every week, you spend a few minutes via email trying to get rid of it, and hope they will comply like most normal people would. If I tried to take him to court in a different country he would just stretch things out, then delete the image at the last moment.. There really is little in the way of protection, unless you are willing to spend a LOT of hours and a lot of $ chasing these things..

Man you wouldn;t believe how hard it is. Someone had copied our free first edition magazine, taken all the text out and turned that into an ebook to sell on Amazon. I took me weeks, many, many hours of effort in proving that the content was mine to Amazon.. So much so that I had to actually purchase the ebook of my stolen information so that I could show the exact examples of what had been stolen.. I asked that I be refunded the price of the ebook I'd had to buy to prove it was all stolen, and Amazon gave me nothing..

IP'ers are often also not happy with little *frack* like that. Contact his web host and make some trouble there. They might throw him out. BTW, what a creepy little freak that video dude. That white cheapo watch......yakkeetheyak.

I get a giggle just thinking at the name they came up with. Did they look at BYAP logo and go"Oh leaf, fish" Nah that sounds like crap' "Ohh What about leafy um ahh gills Yeh"
