I think emulsion and meal involve actual fish, not just poo. If you try the word 'effluent', you might do better researching it. I looked briefly, but didn't find an npk rating. I expect that it is highest in N.

I used some on the dirt garden last week, and saw something on the label about a wetting agent used to make the nutrients stay in the soil longer. I just checked their website (charliecarp.com) and couldn't find anything about any wetters. Although it seems the plain version has some urea and mineral acid (sulphur of some sort it would seem) added to improve the fertiliser value of it. There is also an organic version without these chemicals/fertilisers added, although the NPK values are lower. The plain one is - N: 9.0 P: 2.0 K: 6.0 and the organic one is - N: 3.0 P: 0.7 K: 0.1.

Hmm, what levels of copper are toxic to fish? I just noticed this on the organic version, Copper - 283ppm (the plain version has 180ppm), if my math is right that is .2g/kg, would take a while to accumulate.

If you can find out what wetting agents they used it would be good. Surfactants = soap = bad for fish.

nova, 283 PPM shouds WAY hig for copper.

Thats would have to be for the undiluted strength!

I think toxicity for yabbies and the like are in the Parts per billion.

I'm sure i made a thread once titled copper and custaetions or something like that, see if you can find it, just search for copper yabbie.

here you go.

http://www.probeinternational.org/ebi/c ... opper.html

LC50 for rainbow trout is between .05ppm and .15ppm

that means that at those concentration half of the test subjects DIED.

daphnia are a type of crustaetion and the LC50 for them was .044ppm (44ppb)

From these figues you could work out how much charlie carp in your water volume would yield in PPM i can do it for you later tonight if you want.

Steve

Steve, the figures are from the Charlie Carp website, and are for the undiluted liquid. I think that was for the organic version as well, the regular stuff (with the special wetting agent) was about half of that. Still lots of copper though...

It is LD50, not LC50. ;)

Are the lights adjustable so you can lower and raise them as the plants grow? I would suggest lowering the lights so they are just a few inches over the plants.

Looking good!
