Thank you to the creators of this assume site! My name is Mark and I need some help. I have two 4*4*6 inch deep grow beds and will need to expand at some point, Have a family of five and want to build a system that will provide enough fish to supplement our beef, how big of a pond or tank do I need? And I live in Modesto Ca, so I am looking for a supplier of those cool tanks in cages that I see on the web site. Is there an industry in the area where I can get one? And how menu fish will I need and how often? Will I need a sump for a fingerling tank? I some excited about getting thing going, been backyard farming for a while but not fish. Love the aquaponics set up but would like to include it in my landscaping and make it blend in. Thinking about putting the FT in the ground to help keep it cool in summer, any thoughts on that?

Mark, I'm a newbie too, but I may be able to point you in the right direction. You can find the "Cool tanks in cages" (IBC tanks) fairly easy on craigslist.com. In fact, I just right now went to craigslist, pulled up MODESTO and found several sources. Look a little North or South and you can easily find plenty. If you don't already know, you want "food grade."

I encourage you to just dive in here and read, read, read in this web site. All the information you are asking for and waaaaayy more is in here friend.

I've read that people are indeed burying tanks.

I'd encourage you to go to youtube and do a search on aquaponics. There's a lot of good resources there.

Good luck !
