I dont agree BW, government does what IT wants, not what WE want.
If we had some sort of vote system on major issues, then i would say you are right, but the fact is politicians TELL the common person what is going to happen.
Some say "well dont vote for them", but its a bit hard when they are already in power....

I don't know why people gripe about government so much. I still live a free and happy life, (at least by my standards) within the lines set out by the groups administering the country/community I chose to live in. If you don't like these standards/lines, then go live in a lawless community or one where the government is less demanding of its people and their financial contributions (taxes) and see what happens when the shite hits the fan.

Governments are not all good, but they are not as bad as most people make out.

Nice one Bully.... :thumbright:

Yes, I don't understand why we have all the constant complaining, really we are so well off here compared to many other countries.

I'm happy... :D Not about every single aspect, but that's to be expected, in general it's all good.. :thumbright:

Well i bitch about the government because i hear constantly, " they work for you" "you elected them" "if you dont like what they are doing, vote them out"

Well guess what, i have never voted for the person/ party who got in.
The party i vote for, even if they got majority vote, guess what under our dictator two party system, they could not take office anyway, because they arent labour or liberal.
They dont work for me, they work for themselves and to make american corporations richer.
They do not pass new laws that allow people to do more things, everything they do is "more restrictions, less freedom"
I cannot vote them out, they have 3 years left in thier term and are passing laws that noone wants (gst), they are forcing it onto us, we cannot stop them unless we revolt, voting them out after the law is established will not remove the law, the people we vote in will never remove the law either, because leaving it benefits them, not us, them.

Yavimaya, I wouldn't vote for you for the same reason that I wouldn't support Tony 'Knock everything' Abbott - too bloody negative!

hahah, you'll all learn one day..... Rupert has nothing on me. :P
I would be hoping the reason you dont vote for abbott is not his negativity, but because he is a bad person.

So why is Tony Abbott a "bad person"?

Because he's an arrogant, bullying, dis-ingenuous, elitist, old ideologue.... stuck in the past... with no real vision for the future....

And only really interested in power for the sake of power... and playing the political game...

Think Tony would rather have just belted him... than answer the question.... especially as he obviously hadn't been "briefed"... or the dog ate his homework...

...give me a minute

...aaahhh

...one will come to me soon I'm sure

...aaahhh

...Nope!... I got nuthin...

...unless being a lying, thieving, two faced, spineless puppet is a redeeming quality!

...and "power for the sake of power"... where have you been for the last three years?... and the last three months in particular?
