Hey ya'll :wave1: . Greetings from Southeast Georgia. I'm brand new to aquaponics and have built a 3ft wide x 6ft long x 1ft deep grow bed over a 300 gallon 3ft x 8ft x 2ft deep stock tank. I think I'm going to have to put a larger bell and siphon though. I used a 3/4" stand pipe and a 2" bell and it will not drain fast enough. It takes forever.
I saw Austin's video and our GB's are similar and he was using 2" pipe for his drain if i'm not mistaken. His seemed to drain at a good rate of speed.
Does anyone have any words of wisdom for an entry level aquaponiac?

Hey Charlie Mac,

Glad to see more folks starting up systems this spring!

To answer you in my Intro thread, yes, I was surprised at the sheer weight of gravel I had to wash and carry from my driveway to the GBS, two 5 gallon buckets at a time!

I use a 1.5" stand pipe and 3" bell in my 4'x8'x16" beds. No Issues so far.

J.B.

Hey Charlie Mac,
Welcome. You may need to cut more slits in your bell siphon. A video that really helped me get my sihpons going properly was this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4i-jZoy ... =endscreen

Put some pictures up when you get a chance. Everyone loves some AP porn!
